CAT-2010

CAT QUESTIONS ARE REPEATING : 


HYDERABAD : Questions in CAT, the management entrance exam, are repeating from test to test this year too. While the online examination that started from October 27 has been glitch-free so far, the IIMs and software major, Prometric, seem to have failed to avoid repetition in questions.

This has given candidates who have opted for the later dates of the month-long test schedule, an edge over the others who took it in the first few dates.

Students who took the test during the weekend from different centres in the city said that questions repeated were mainly from Quantitative Analysis and Verbal Ability sections.

CAT-takers are now studying and even sharing the questions which appeared in the previous examinations.

According to some of the coaching experts who appeared for the test in the first two days of CAT-2010, some of the questions were not even jumbled in the next few rounds of the test. "There are questions which appeared with the same question numbers in two different slots. So the test-takers who will write the examination in the coming days will have a better chance to clear CAT this year," said a CAT expert from the city.

According to CAT observers, some of the questions were repeats of the types from previous years' question papers.

Some of the questions repeated the same errors too, CAT-takers said. "There was a question in Maths section for which there were multiple answers. This question which appeared on the second day of the examination repeated itself on the third day afternoon slot," said representative of a CAT coaching institute.

Some candidates said that there were similarities in comprehension patterns (in Verbal Ability section) in some of the eight tests which were conducted so far. The examination is expected to end on November 22.
