hi every1
IBM announced ''The Great Mind Challenge 2010''- a pioneering nation-wide software development and research contest under the company's Academic Initiative program. This contest, recognized by the Limca book of records as the largest software development and research contest provides a unique opportunity for students to develop innovative solutions using open standards-based IT tools under grueling real time situations.
The Great Mind Challenge 2010 aims at enabling participants acquire hands-on experience on IBM software products. Mentors from IBM along with the college faculty will work closely with the students to help them develop market-ready skills required of a current day workforce.
Speaking on the occasion, Country Manager - Academic Initiative, Developer Works & Globalization, and IBM India/South Asia said, ''The industry requires more adaptive innovators – people who possess a level of proficiency in a niche area of specialization along with the requisite soft skills. With work environments becoming increasingly collaborative, The Great Mind Challenge is just the platform needed in helping students enhance their research capability on understanding application scenarios and demonstrate their ability to apply their acquired technical expertise in creating innovative software solutions.''
Under the new program, IBM will provide access to its research community as well as sales, marketing and technical skills. Additionally, students who submit projects under TGMC are eligible to post their resume in the Student Opportunity System or other equivalent local job portal used by industry partners and customers to recruit students who have the necessary experience. -------Alla Mahesh Reddy /IT |
